Across the conversations I had at The Future Of in May 2026, one question kept returning.
I moderated a panel with Carly Price from ServiceNow, Anthony Wolf from Canadian Tire and Roger Rohatgi from Chai. Three leaders, three different businesses, and a shared challenge underneath the work.
Which parts of your business were built on assumptions that AI just broke?
Carly described her ServiceNow design team encoding its design system into Claude Code as an explicit rules layer and producing clickable prototypes faster. She also raised the harder question: how do designers develop the judgment that makes the work good when more of the production is automated?
Anthony described transformation at Canadian Tire as a design challenge involving people, data and technology. His 70/20/10 framing was a way to direct leadership attention, not a measured formula for results.
Roger, the former Head of Design at BP, is building full agentic workforces at Chai and argues that Jensen Huang's five-layer AI stack is missing a critical sixth layer: experience. He has production examples running today, and he's asking what happens to your brand when an AI agent is making the purchasing decision, not the human.
What to do this week.
Conversations with people doing the work can challenge assumptions that survive inside your own organization. That was what made these discussions useful to me.
Find one operator whose experience can pressure-test your current plan.
A conference, a webinar, a lunch or a coffee can all work. Ask what they tried, what changed in practice and what they would do differently. Bring a question you haven’t been able to answer internally.
And if there are conferences, summits, or communities where these conversations are happening that I should know about, I'd be grateful if you reach out. I'm always looking for the next room worth walking into.
From the portfolio
Board of Innovation is the AI Transformation Studio behind the AUTONOMOUS: OBSOLETE summit. They work with mid-market and Fortune 500 companies to redesign how they identify, validate, and capture value in an AI-first environment. If the themes above sound like the conversations happening inside your organization, that's because BOI is helping enterprises answer them in practice, not just on stage.
AlignAI helps AI program teams coordinate intake, review and portfolio visibility. That gives leaders a clearer view of what is running, what needs a decision and what is stuck.
The conversations are converging. The question is whether your organization is converging with them.
