Andelyn Biosciences is working with AlignAI on how to adopt AI within gene-therapy manufacturing. The Columbus company develops and manufactures therapies for other organizations, which makes protecting customer intellectual property central to the work.
In an Ohio Tech News interview, Bryan Holmes, Andelyn’s vice president of information technology, described the need for expertise his leadership team could trust. An earlier executive session with AlignAI cofounder and CEO Rehgan Bleile grew into a broader strategy for AI adoption.
AlignAI’s work included policies for acceptable AI use and standards for system design. The interview describes how clearer rules, together with better access to data, helped Andelyn shorten internal approvals for AI-enabled work.
Holmes also described employees beginning to suggest applications themselves. Their participation offers another way to understand adoption: people close to the work are starting to see where the capability could help.
