JMIR Publications used StoryTap to invite research authors to record short videos explaining their work, according to a January 2025 customer case.
Authors could record from a phone or computer using prompts that guided the explanation. The process gave the publisher a repeatable way to collect video alongside written research without organizing an individual production for every author.
StoryTap reports more than 100 videos over six months. The case also describes growth in JMIR’s YouTube viewing during the program. Those are publishing and engagement measures; they do not establish a change in research quality or clinical outcomes.
For organizations with complex expertise to share, the application is straightforward: help the people who know the work explain it in their own words, then make that explanation easy for the audience to find.
